Festivals
It is almost 50 years as folk dance group “Vingis” delights the audience with impressive folk dances and music. Nevertheless, the group is always young – consisting of dancers and musicians who are the students of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Dancers wear hand-crafted costumes and the musicians play the authentic instruments, so the dances are always accompanied with the live music.
The group is proud of the variety of dances it performs – most of them are created by one of the group leaders Ričardas Tamutis, who created more than 220 folk dances and was recognized as the most productive folk dances author in Lithuania. Furthermore, recently “Vingis” took the first place in the youth competition “Kadagys” in Lithuania and also got the “Golden bird” award for high artistic level.
The group takes part in many concerts inside the country and abroad. The countries visited and the festivals in which the group took part are named below.
